I am so excited today because it is Once Upon A Tea Time's 5th birthday! It has been a wonderful journey because it is through the blog that I discovered that even though I was a biology nerd, I was also very interested in art and creative expression of every kind and that thanks to the internet and blogosphere, I could be a part of that creative world. As I get ready to release the magazine tomorrow (fingers crossed!), I want to thank you for being here! I have a special giveaway planned in association with the magazine release and you can get all the details when you come back tomorrow. Lots of love to all of you!

I am just popping in to say Hello and let you know that I am right here. I have been busy working on the magazine and it has me feeling so excited and inspired and wondering where this new path is taking me. So much of life is like that, isn't it? The Once Upon A Tea Time magazine is due later this week and I hope you will understand if my blogging is a little erratic until then. I am hoping that the magazine will more than make up for that!

It's the Thanksgiving holiday here in the United States, my favorite of all occasions. I am truly grateful for all my blessings but there is one in particular that I want to share with you. To me, blogging is mostly like writing diary entries- a more or less solitary occupation though one I love. Of course, I interact with the people that write to me and I love showcasing their ideas and products or their beautiful homes and providing that creative platform. I feel I am really good at that. What I am not so great at is being at the receiving end, of having someone help me out. I recently blogged about getting ready to publish a Once Upon A Tea Time.. magazine and when I reached out for article contributions, advertising and general all-around support, I have been overwhelmed by the response. Ask and you shall receive is not just a biblical quote to me- I have seen it in action so many times recently that I have no doubt that it's true. I think I got so complacent with being at the giving end, I didn't realize how much out of practice I am with sharing my problems or asking for support until my mother reminded me that the support has always been there. I just never opened up enough to ask. So I have a lot to be thankful for including all of you wonderful people that come back everyday and read this blog. Thank you and have a wonderful Thanksgiving!

Just this once, I would like for it to snow in California and for me to be marooned in this welcoming cottage! Okay, so I am in California but the cottage is actually in Worcestershire, UK but a girl can dream, can't she? Find all the pictures on the House to Home (UK) website.

I am always on the lookout for entrepreneurs and enterprises that take the traditional and exotic East and give it that contemporary edge or spin - it retains all the original beauty but has an extra oomph that has a multicultural and multi-generational appeal. Visit Safomasi to browse their fabric collection to see what I mean.
